Help with listening, language support and saved Clips in the Letora beta.
Something not working?
Open TestFlight, select Letora, then choose Send Beta Feedback. A screenshot and a sentence about what you expected are helpful.
Or email kris@krisbursuc.com. Include your iPhone model, Letora version and listening language. Please leave out passwords and private content.
Your first listen
Choose your listening and translation languages during setup. The optional Try it guide lets you practise with a short sample. You can reopen it in Settings → Help → Reading gestures.
For something of your own, find a podcast or import a DRM-free audiobook. Audiobookshelf is optional; you do not need a NAS or a Letora account.
Device and language support
Letora requires iOS 26. This beta supports English, German, Spanish, French and Portuguese. Connect to Wi-Fi during setup so your iPhone can download any required language models.
Word explanations also need Apple Intelligence on an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, or an iPhone 16 or later, with Apple Intelligence enabled and its models ready. Transcription and translation have separate availability. Check Apple's requirements.
If language help is unavailable
Check the language preparation message and your connection, and allow any model downloads to finish. A missing explanation does not necessarily mean translation is unavailable. You can keep listening while you prepare language support.
The guide includes labeled teaching examples. Translations of your own content use the real language services and may be imperfect. If an answer changes the meaning, tell us the source and target languages and, if you are comfortable sharing it, the short passage.
Find a saved Clip
Open Saved from the Library, choose the book, then open its Clip. Saving keeps the editor open so you can adjust the passage; Done closes it. Saved Clips remain available after you close and reopen Letora.
Playback or downloads
If playback will not start, open the player and check that the audio has finished downloading. If the issue continues, include whether you were using the lock screen, headphones or the phone speaker in your feedback.
Downloaded audio can play offline. Podcasts need a connection to search and download, and a publisher's feed must support HTTPS. Audible's protected downloads cannot be imported.
Your library and privacy
Audio, transcripts and language processing stay on your device. Podcast and Audiobookshelf requests connect to their respective services. TestFlight shares beta diagnostics with us, and feedback includes what you choose to send. Read the privacy policy.
